Groundbreaking for New Multi-Purpose Hall
Construction has begun on a new multi-purpose hall at the Zerhusen Kartonagen GmbH site. The new building is being constructed next to the company's entrance, between the corrugated board plant and Ostring, and represents another step toward optimizing the company's internal logistics.
The new hall will serve several functions in the future. In addition to a central warehouse for raw materials, auxiliary materials, and operating supplies, it will provide additional storage capacity for finished goods and traded products. This will relieve existing storage areas and enable more efficient material flows throughout the company.
All loading and dispatch operations will take place entirely inside the building. The project also includes office and staff facilities, as well as integration with the existing sprinkler system infrastructure.
Measuring 208 meters in length, 30 meters in width, and 10 meters in height, the multi-purpose hall is one of the company's largest construction projects to date. To prepare the building site, approximately 1,200 truckloads of fill sand will be delivered over the coming weeks.
Commissioning of the new facility is planned for autumn 2027, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of Zerhusen Kartonagen.
